Kern complimented Natrona "You guys have a real nice team" following Laramie's 67 62 double overtime victory on Friday at Jerry Dalton Court, adding that hopefully the two teams would meet again at the Wyoming State High School Championships in March.
to watch Loose tie the game with 3.7 seconds left on two free throws of his own.
"We knew it was going to be a fight, so all week we prepared."
Laramie senior Sam Feldman missed two free throws with 3.9 seconds left in the first overtime, and NC senior Chandler Meeboer had a good look as the clock was winding down, but couldn't convert. Laramie then hit 16 of 18 from the free throw line in the second overtime to salt away the victory.
After a sluggish first half, the Mustangs started the second half with a 9 0 run capped by senior Nathan Pieper's three point play to tie the game a 23 23 with 5 minutes, 25 seconds left in the third quarter. Laramie (4 0 overall) and senior point guard Tyler Loose responded to end the quarter; Loose scored the Plainsmen's final seven points of the quarter to retake the lead, 37 29, heading into the final eight minutes.

"We knew coming in that was going to be a state championship type of game," said Loose, who finished with a game high 24 points. "They're really evenly matched with us."
"Does this help us down the road? I hope so. I hope so," Kern said.
"With the crowd and the actual, real, game type situations, it's totally different," said Pieper, who finished with 11 points. "To be in that situation this early in the season, it's really going to help us grow as a team."

For Natrona, it certainly gave the Mustangs things to work on. After shooting 70 percent from the free throw in the opening weekend of the season, Natrona shot 50 percent (8 of 16); "It felt like seven [percent]," Gillum said.

But once again Natrona (3 1) responded. The Mustangs rattled off a 10 2 run, and drive and floater from senior Austin Banks tied the game at 43 43 with less than two minutes left in regulation. Pieper gave NC a 45 43 with seven seconds left, only Nike Air Force 1 Low White And Blue
